Job Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Design Team Lead to establish and run the new Vilnius Design team. In this role, you’ll lead a team of versatile designers, guiding them through the entire design process while ensuring that their work is aligned with Wix’s high standards of design excellence. You’ll be responsible for driving design strategy, fostering innovation and overseeing the creation of visually compelling, top shelf web and brand design. 

• Mentor and guide a team of designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional growth
• Build a strong team by leading end-to-end recruitment processes, and ensuring smooth onboarding experiences
• Act as the primary representative of the Vilnius Design studio within the Design guild and the global company, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, sharing insights and fostering collaboration across teams and locations
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, and other design teams to align design concepts with project goals and user needs
• Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale and strategies to stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle
• Establish sustainable relationships with key players in Vilnius’ design community, including agencies, schools and other organizations
• Manage the operational side of the design team by receiving, analyzing and distributing briefs, while ensuring individual team members’ ownership and KPIs 

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional web design and brand experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to lead design projects
• Proven experience in leading design teams, mentoring designers and driving design strategy. Leading a team of designers in a global company is an advantage
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Ability to approach design challenges creatively, finding innovative solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional goals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present and explain design concepts clearly
• A deep passion for visual design, user experience and staying ahead of industry trends
• Knowledge of coding and significant experience with GenAI practices – strong advantages

The Wix Design guild is a multidisciplinary in-house design studio of over 300 designers globally, with a mission to implement a cohesive and coherent brand strategy across all visual assets at Wix. Now, they are expanding their creative footprint with the launch of the Vilnius Design Studio – a new center for innovation, collaboration and design excellence. This team will serve as a creative powerhouse, bringing together talented versatile designers to a wide range of design tasks, enhancing the variety and velocity of our in-house design capabilities. With a focus on creativity, collaboration and user-first solutions, the team will play a key role in shaping the future of design at Wix.
