Our client – Icybit is a scientific research, experimental development and innovation company working in areas of artificial intelligence, distributed computing and big data analytics. The company is known as the creator of WISE - the real-time people crowd detection platform - and is currently active in fields of telecommunication, transportation and retail.

Opportunities

Conduct applied research on and experimental development of a novel secure distributed computing system in a small team of experts working in the field for the past 8 years. This is a great opportunity for a passionate computer scientist, software engineer or mathematician to help solve fundamental problems of practical relevance using advanced cryptographic protocols and distributed computing techniques.

Responsibilities

Design and implementation of a secure distributed computing system end-to-end, including:

  • Analysis of formal and informal system specifications
  • Design of system architecture, data structures and algorithms
  • Implementation of system components
  • Verification and validation of system implementation
  • Deployment of system into production environment
Requirements
  • PhD (or MSc / BSc with distinction) in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related area
  • Strong ability to design and implement software
  • Ability to read and interpret academic research papers
  • Experience in C/C++ or at least one other major programming language
  • Knowledge of Node.JS or similar server-side technology is a plus
  • Knowledge of Redis or similar data structure servers is a plus
  • Knowledge of advanced cryptography, esp. of multi-party cryptographic protocols, is a big plus
  • Knowledge of distributed ledger technology, esp. of smart contracts, is a plus
  • Familiarity with formal methods and notations, e.g. TLA+, is a plus
  • Experience in competitive programming, e.g. ICPC or IOI, is a plus
