Job description

• Lead a distributed team of 8 observability engineers, ensuring dedication, professional growth, and alignment with company goals
• Develop and implement an innovative observability strategy that supports the organization's needs and growth objectives
• Ensure the effective use of key observability tools such as Splunk, DataDog, and OpenTelemetry to monitor, solve, and improve the performance of our systems
• Collaborate closely with the Infrastructure, Application Management, Software Engineering and Product teams to integrate observability practices into the SDLC
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning within the observability team
• Provide guidance and leadership in incident management, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative measures
• Prepare and present reports on observability metrics, trends, and insights to senior management and customers
• Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and methodologies in observability and DevOps

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in IT operations, DevOps or software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Deep understanding of observability principles and practices in an enterprise setting
• Proficiency with cloud-native observability tools in AWS and Azure environments
• Expertise in using Splunk, DataDog or OpenTelemetry for monitoring and analytics
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing hard-working, diverse teams
• Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with multi-functional teams and partners at all levels
• Willingness to travel as needed to work closely with teams in other locations
